Notts Soup

I always like to have a camera at hand and sometimes I have the honour to capture some wonderful events.

Notts Soup is a quarterly crowdfunding get to together based on the Detroit Soup model. At each gathering people get to make some new connections,  hear four pitches in four minutes about ideas which try to make a difference to society on a local level and the most votes gets to take the pot of money home.

This time out we had Radford Visiting Scheme, a local charity established in 1985 which helps supports lonely and isolated people in the Radford and surrounding areas.

Rosie Kemp from The Shop at Sneinton Market was looking to start a rewards system to help invigorate the local makers/crafts shops and commerce.

The two Rebecca’s from Tea & Company, an homeless outreach program providing hot drinks, food, clothes, sanitary products to vulnerable people without a place of their own.

Carly Williams of Zephyr’s, an idea born out of tragedy which supports bereaved families in a quiet setting. Carly took the vote to help buy plants and tools for a peace garden at the Nottingham City Hospital setting of Zephyr’s.
